ABOUT WILL ANDERSON
Growing up in York, I spent much of my childhood daydreaming of fantastic worlds and stories. Throughout school, I focused my studies around biology and physics to explore my interest in veterinary work and astrophysics. However, as I developed my creative work more and more, this hobby became my educational focus in the form of a Creative Media UAL at college. This led into an animation (BA) course at Sheffield Hallam University, which I graduated from in June 2023, achieving a first and having my animated short film 'Arachnicked' nominated for the Nick Park Award.

Since finishing university, I founded Stretch, an animation studio specialising in explainer animations. Under Stretch, I has developed explainer animations for clients including Growing Me CIC and the University of York. Alongside Stretch, I have continued to develop my creative portfolio through personal work.

ARTISTIC HISTORY
Qualifications and Experience
September 2018 - July 2020
Creative Media (UAL)
Completed the Creative Media (UAL) course at York College, achieving a Distinction. This course comprised of a combination of animation, post-production, print and audio projects, culminating in my final project - a 2D animated trailer for my video game concept.
November 2019 -January 2020
Animator - York Art Gallery
Worked alongside a team of students to organise and run a promotional event for York Art Gallery. Primarily, I directed and animated a motion graphics animation which was played on a screen at the event to introduce visitors to the exhibition.
September 2020 - July 2023
Animation (BA)
Specialising in Concept art and 2D animation, I studied at Sheffield Hallam University, graduating from the animation (BA Hons) course and achieving a first with honours. Furthermore, my final project - an animated film named 'Arachnicked', was nominated for the 'Nick Park' award.

Stretch - Founder and Lead Animator
Fresh out of univeristy, I formed 'Stretch', an animation studio specialising in business and explainer animations, as an avenue to expand my skillset both creatively and in management and organisation.
Under Stretch, I have developed a range of animations for 'Growing Me CIC' and 'The University of York', and have recently been awarded a contract with 'NHS England' to develop a 2-minute explainer animation.
